After a month of transformation, we’re excited to reintroduce ourselves with a refreshed brand identity and an updated name that highlights our central focus.
Welcome to the Rubin Museum of Himalayan Art. We’re a global museum dedicated to presenting Himalayan art and its insights through exhibitions, participatory experiences, partnerships, and dynamic digital resources.
The new look integrates a vibrant blue with a welcoming attitude. The color is rooted in many of the paintings in the Rubin’s collection as well as minerals found in the earth. In Tibetan Buddhism, blue represents healing and mirror-like wisdom. It also symbolizes the air and wind, echoing the Rubin’s new global trajectory.
These changes are reflected on the Museum’s brand-new website, which now serves as the hub to discover the Rubin’s projects and exhibitions in this next chapter and the primary vehicle to learn about Himalayan art and the insights it may inspire. Visitors can expect an image-rich, content-driven experience that connects our collection to other multimedia features across the site, creating different pathways for engagement and insights.
